Purpose
The equipment is used for the experimental research of the ship propulsion qualities basing on the motion simulation of the separate hulls models, rudder and propeller models. It is also used to study of the method of the realization of the data, received as a result of the experimental research using the models in a small experimental tank.
Development Description
The equipment includes:
1. Towing system.
1.1. Towing cart with a three-component dynamometer (up to 50 N), trim angle detector, detector of the model vertical surfacing and an on-board computer.
1.2. Towing cart driving gear with an asynchronous electric motor, frequency converter, towing cart positioning detector, towing cart velocity sensor (km/s) and a coastal computer.
1.3. Photographic film equipment for the recording of the events, occurring during the model’s motion.
2. A host computer with the towing cart motion control system and recording system, experimental data gathering and processing.
3. A printer.
The equipment defines the model motion characteristics and the characteristics of the force, which influence the model. Temporary and final experimental results are shown on the digital display, on the screen of the host personal computer and are printed in a form of tables and charts.
Application Area
The equipment can be used in a studying process of the higher educational shipbuilding and navigation establishments, and in the research of the ship propulsion qualities.
