Scientific industrial department was established in 1994 on the basis of experimental research plant of the Mykolayiv shipbuilding institute, which existed in 1980-th.
The manager is Savenko Mykola Olexandrovych.
The main tasks of the scientific industrial department of the NUOS are:
- Fulfilling of the scientific and technical activities, aimed for the obtaining and usage of the new knowledge, to solve technical, engineering, economic, social and other problems.
- Organizing and providing of the production of the science intensive, competitive innovational productions in the domestic and external markets;
- Realization of the scientific and technical policy of the University;
- Development of scientific and technical collaboration with other organizations and enterprises.
One of the main branches of the department activities is the realization of the adoption programs of the systems of the plasmic lighting fuel which is assigned for the ignition of the fuel-aery mixture in the combustion chambers and in the generating units while launching. Unique devices (no analogues in Ukraine) were designed on the basis of low-temperature researches by the staff of the department.
Scientific research department successfully delivers the device Inklinograf Amayeva, which is assigned for the defining of the initial metacentric height and the wave period of the ship while the list testing.
Research scientific department contains mechanical, radio montage, modeling areas and it allows to provide necessary processes and operations for the aforementioned production.
Famous Ukrainians such as Master of Sports of international class S.M. Postykin, A.M. Merkushev, Y.M. Kazylo, Y.O. Zelenov, candidate for the mster of Sports D.V. Lebedyev work in this area.
Mykolayiv team is taking part in the European and world-wide competitions during many years. And every model always is awarded.
In July,2009 an ordinary competition was held in Romania, models from sixteen countries were performed. Six sportsmen from the Ukrainian team were from Mykolayiv, notably from the Scientific Research Department of the NUOS. Performed models were awarded with five golden and one silver medals.
