Preparatory Courses

The preparatory courses and profession-oriented classes of the NUS at Mykolayiv and regional schools were founded with the aim to satisfy more youth requirements for educational services, especially in training of university applicants for entering the higher educational institutions.
For the External Independent Assessment implementation, that is required for entering the higher educational institutions of Ukraine, there is a basic test training of school leavers. Testing as an educational approach and form of knowledge and skills assessment is in common practice. The systemic preparation to the External Independent Assessment is performed by means of advanced learning and systematization of knowledge that the pupils got at senior high school (mathematics, physics, Ukrainian language and literature, English, Ukrainian history) and creative knowledge (draughtsmanship, drawing, painting and composition). Everyone is welcome.
The profession-oriented classes of the preparatory courses were organized for the senior learners of the Mykolayiv and Mykolayiv region comprehensive schools. Such classes work at Mykolayiv schools 42 and 46 (two years of study), as well as on the basis of Domanivka urban village school 2 and Ochakiv school 4.

2009-2010 Preparatory Courses

The Preparatory Courses of the Centre of the Pre-university Training for the educational quality improvement at the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding (NUS) were organized in 1957 and work with the aim to satisfy more youth requirements for educational services, help to consolidate their knowledge and skills that the applicants got at comprehensive educational institutions, train the applicants for successive passing of the External Independent Assessment that is required since 2007 for entering the higher educational institutions of Ukraine. Highly qualified lecturers, high-quality training and well-developed educational methodological base are the house style of our University Preparatory Courses. Due to the Contract on the partnership with the Odessa Regional Centre of Educational Quality Assessment (ORCEQA) the students of the Preparatory Courses have an opportunity to use the educational methodological products, training materials, informational and test base of the ORCEQA, as well as to participate in trial tests on the NUS basis that are held by means of methods and rules of the Ukrainian Centre of Educational Quality Assessment. For the External Independent Assessment implementation at the preparatory courses (as the productive educational approach and form of knowledge and skills assessment) testing, educational and control tests are in common practice. The educational tests are used during the whole academic year. They see to the level of material acquirement, consolidate and refresh it, find the gaps in knowledge and skills of the applicants, direct them to the removal of defects in training. The control tests are like a conclusion of the theme learning, they check knowledge and skills that the applicants got and produced within one or several groups of themes. The educational process at the preparatory courses includes the explanation of the procedure, schedule, performing rules of the test tasks and design conditions, demonstration of the training exercises solution algorithms. The obligatory diagnosis of the typical and individual faults of the students, the carrying out almost individual detailed analysis of results promote the achievement of the high training level.
